Internal conference
All senior staff from MRDC's UK , Thai and Malaysian offices attended a 3 day conference in Langkawi, Malaysia.
The aim of the conference was to discuss ways we can all work more efficiently, communicate better and make the most of the people/software that we have.
The conference was a great success with lots of “bright” ideas being shared and, above, all everyone had a good time!

MRDC has released its second set of tools to assist with managing data collected on the web. The new tools will make the transition of data from many online products easier, but more importantly allows customisation so that links can be built inexpensively for most data collection programs.
The move is part of MRDC's drive towards automating analysis and reporting for major tracking studies. In 2008, MRDC will be releasing MRHub, a new state of the art system for allowing automation of analysis and reports with automated delivery and publishing.
As MRDC continues to expand, it has now made the new office in Borough Green is Data Management Centre for continuous pharmaceutical research. The new Congleton has taken on new staff and is now handling most data analysis and management of ad hoc and tracking studies.
MRDC has continued to expand its team in the Cheshire office with the appointment of Adele Driver. Adele will be responsible for survey analysis and data management.
MRDC has opened its second UK office in Congleton, Cheshire . The newly refurbished offices are at 3 Martins Court, West Street, Congleton, Cheshire CW12 1JR Telephone: (+44) 1260 281086. Improved charting and reporting - MRDC has announced the imminent release of version 4 of Report Direct. The new program has been completely revamped and has a new look and feel, making the automated production of charts and reports much easier. Phil Hearn, who heads software development, described the new look Report Direct as “a massive step towards increasing automation in the reporting of market research data”.
The new software is expected to be ready for trial in late May.
Customised Excel outputs now available - A new service has been launched will allow customers to specify their Excel-based outputs. The service is geared to those customers who have regular reporting requirements or one or more house styles for preparing tabulations.
The new service allows customers to have outputs using their own templates and can be provided at an affordable price.
Making sure data quality standards do not fall - In a quest to ensure that the increasing with which survey results are generated, Phil Hearn has spoken out at the temptation to produce fast results, but inaccurately. He said recently “There is a temptation to press buttons and run tables without looking at the cleanliness of the data. However, we maintain that all data should be checked thoroughly before it is published. The increasing number of web-based surveys has given rise to an attitude that the data must be ‘clean'. Data that is logically consistent may not be clean – if someone has conflicting responses within their data, it may be hiding errors that may go unnoticed.” MRDC checks all data before it is published unless specifically requested.
